Growing & using Old Fashioned Rose Scented Geranium
Old Fashioned Rose Scented Geranium is also known as Rose Geranium. Deeply divided leaves are covered with many small pink flowers. It is a fairly large rambling shrub but is easy to keep pruned to a reasonable size. It should have at least three feet in diameter to grow. More is better because there is more to enjoy! Geraniums can be grown in containers. They grow rapidly so continually monitor for root space and move up to a larger container when necessary. Rose scented geraniums are often used to scent sugar, jellies and decorate baked goods. Old Fashioned Rose Geranium has a more intricately cut leaf than Attar of Rose But, both make attractive and fragrant decorations on top of cakes. They are applied before the cake bakes and removed after. A light sprinkle of powdered sugar accentuates the pattern of the leaf.
