Growing & using Warley Rose Rockrose

Warley Rose Rockrose has crinkled leaves and bright pink flowers that bloom in late spring. It makes a wonderful addition to the rock or Mediterrean garden. Like all rockroses, Warley Rose is a very drought-tolerant shrub. It does neeed water in extreme heat and while it is getting established. A properly pruned Warley Rose will get about a foot to two feet tall. If the branches are allowed to touch the ground, they will root, and the width of the plant will increase.
The larger the bush, the more bright pink, crepe-paper like flowers it will have. The flowers are profuse for about three weeks and then taper off. They leave behind seed pods, which need to be pruned off to maintain the appearance of the plant. When not in bloom, the dark green, wavy-edged leaves provide texture and a cooling green backdrop for other flowering plants.

This large span of Warley Rockrose grows in the spotty shade of massive, thirty foot tall hedge of Greek Bay bushes. Full sun or part shade doesn’t seem to matter, as long as adequate moisture is provided.
