Growing & using Lovage
With its unique celery like flavor, Lovage can be an important herb to add to your culinary garden. Unlike celery, Lovage is a perennial. And, while Lovage does not make a wide stem like celery, instead it makes a consistent supply of dark green very flavorful leaves which can be added to soups, stews, dips and sauces. The fresh Lovage leaves hold up well to prolonged cooking. Leaves can be dried or frozen. Dried seeds can also be toasted or used ground.
Lovage makes a great addition to either our Kitchen Herb Garden Six Pack or our Gourmet Herb Garden Six Pack.
This plant is sometimes available in plug trays. These trays hold 128 of all the same plant. They are a great low cost way to fill a lot of space. Each cell is 3/4 of inch by an inch. Check here to see if Lovage Plug Trays are available.
